Echoes

This is the very first song I wrote in the SCA.

Winter has fallen and Springtime is here,
And Summer must follow soon after…
Then in the meadows the folk shall appear,
And the hills will echo with laughter.

Go – now – my lovely young ladies and
Put – on – your gossamer gowns!
If – we – dance all night and don’t sleep
we – might – see the day dawn…

Sunlight will never end, starshine goes on,
The sky above clear as a silver sea,
As we all gladly go hither and yon,
Our hearts return to this memory.

As – we – drink and dance, roll and prance,
Dra – gon – watches o’er all!
Knights – and – merchants aplenty and
We – are – safe from the fall…

Echos fade quickly and autumn will go,
And winter will follow soon after…
Then ‘twill be springtime and as the winds blow,
The hills remember our laughter.

Though – it – will be a long time till
We – are – gathered again…
Know – that – we’ll all remember the
Time – with – others we spent…

Winter has fallen and Springtime is here,
And Summer must follow soon after…
Then in the meadows the folk shall appear,
And the hills will echo with laughter.
